YOU CAN CONTROL MORE THAN YOU THINK RIGHT NOW - IT STARTS WITH STAYING OPEN

Many people seem to be walking around with an imaginary “closed” sign that warns everyone else to keep out – would you agree?

International speaker Avi Liran summed it up beautifully at the Professional Speakers Australia Convention last weekend, when he talked about leaders operating in airplane mode.

Just like we do when we put our phones on flight mode, a lot of leaders – and people in general - are going through their days disconnected from everyone and everything around them.

The problem is, they’re forgetting to switch themselves back on again.

It’s understandable, given all that’s happened in the last three years. There’s so much to contend with and the future on a global scale is uncertain to say the least.

And while you probably don’t have a magic wand to set our world back on a steady path again (wouldn’t that be nice?!), you have absolute control over your own attitude and actions, including the words you speak every day.

You can choose to be a leader who remains open and connected, rather than closed off and hunkered down in negativity.

I love the flight mode analogy. It’s reminded me to make sure I’m switching myself back on at regular intervals. I encourage you to do the same.
